Lists of 10

The ten commandments are found in Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21:

Note that various traditions number the commandments differenty: Judaism (J), Eastern Orthodox and Protestant Christians (O+P), and Roman Catholics and Lutherans (RC+L).
The P stands for Prologue: in Jewish tradition, the “commandments” are known as the “ten words”; the prologue is the first word.
The meaning of take in the 3rd (2nd) commandment is “carry”; swearing in a moment of anger is not the same as preaching false doctrine or misrepresenting God.
The meaning of kill in the 6th (5th) commandment refers to murder or killing through negligence, not killing of animals, capital punishment or warfare.

Most of the lists of ten found on the internet are “top ten . . .” subjective lists.
